RiseUp core technical capabilities for EPDM rubber gasket manufacturing including UV resistance and precision die cutting

Extreme UV & Ozone Resistant

Superior Water & Steam Sealing

Die-Cutting & Custom Extrusion

-40°C to +150°C Rated

The Ultimate Shield Against Weather, Ozone, and Water

When it comes to permanent outdoor exposure, standard rubber formulations fail quickly. Many local EPDM rubber gasket suppliers in Europe and North America can only provide commercial-grade materials that are prone to UV degradation, and due to high labor costs, their prices are still expensive.

Our highly saturated EPDM polymer backbone makes it virtually immune to damage from sunlight and atmospheric conditions, while offering better cost performance.

This is why engineers from European and American customers often bypass standard EPDM gasket suppliers and specify our EPDM rubber gaskets for the most demanding environments.

  • ☀️ Unmatched UV & Ozone Resistance: Unlike natural rubber or standard nitrile, custom rubber gaskets made from EPDM will not crack, fade, or lose their critical elasticity even after decades of direct sunlight and harsh atmospheric exposure.

  • 💧 Superior Water & Steam Sealing: Highly impermeable to water and highly resistant to hot steam. This makes EPDM the premier choice for HVAC systems, water treatment plants, and architectural weatherstripping.

  • 🌡️ Broad Temperature Flexibility: Our standard EPDM compounds maintain excellent flexibility in freezing conditions down to -40°C (-40°F) and reliably resist heat aging up to +150°C (+302°F).

  • 🛑 The Honest Engineering Disclaimer: We believe in complete transparency to prevent catastrophic system failures. EPDM is not suitable for environments exposed to petroleum, mineral oils, or concentrated hydrocarbons (these will cause the EPDM to swell and degrade). If your application involves active oil contact, our engineering team will seamlessly guide you toward our nitrile rubber gasket or fkm  rubber gasket

Engineered EPDM Grades for Specialized Applications

Not all EPDM rubber is created equal. Depending on your industry’s regulatory requirements, continuous thermal stress, and closure force limits, our materials science lab compounds specific EPDM elastomer grades to ensure the long-term reliability of your custom rubber gaskets:

  • 🏢 Commercial Grade EPDM: The standard, highly cost-effective workhorse. Ideal for general-purpose architectural weatherstripping, HVAC duct sealing, and agricultural equipment where reliable UV and moisture resistance is required.

  • 🔥 Peroxide-Cured EPDM (High-Performance): While standard sulfur-cured EPDM is common, we highly recommend our Peroxide-Cured epdm rubber gaskets for extreme environments. This advanced curing process provides vastly superior heat resistance (up to +150°C / +302°F), remarkable chemical stability, and an exceptionally low compression set. It is the ultimate choice for high-pressure steam lines and automotive cooling systems.

  • 🚰 Potable Water Grade (NSF-61 / WRAS): Formulated strictly for the municipal water and plumbing industry. These ultra-clean, non-toxic EPDM gaskets are certified safe for contact with human drinking water. They prevent any chemical leaching, bacterial growth, odor, or taste transfer in pipe flanges and water filtration systems.

  • 🧽 Closed-Cell EPDM Sponge: When your application requires a rugged outdoor IP67/IP68 waterproof seal but the housing has a low closure force (such as outdoor LED lighting fixtures or thin plastic electrical enclosures), our custom extruded or molded EPDM sponge offers extreme compressibility and immediate weatherproofing.

Different grades of EPDM rubber gaskets including high-temperature peroxide-cured, NSF-61 potable water, and closed-cell sponge

Options Of EPDM Rubber Gaskets Provided By RISEUP

EDPM Sill gasket

EDPM Sill gasket

It is used for doors and windows, or placed between the building foundation and the wooden sill plate (also known as the “sill”).

Main functions:

1.Waterproofing

2.Moisture protection

3.Sound insulation

4. Energy saving.

We can customize shape according to your requirements, and cut them to your specified dimensions. in order to easy insatallation,We can also apply an adhesive backing to the product . The EPDM sill plate gasket is one category within this range – it is used between the concrete foundation wall and the wooden sill plate, typically in the form of a black flat pad/gasket.

EPDM Foam Gasket

EPDM Foam Gasket

It is a foam rubber gasket with an open‑cell structure (where the internal pores are interconnected).

Main functions:

1.Dustproofing

2.Vibration damping

3.Soundproofing

Typical applications include equipment base vibration pads, internal seals for speakers/audio enclosures, and wrapping for air‑conditioning ductwork. Unlike sponge gaskets, this type does not offer waterproofing

EPDM Gasket Sheet

EPDM Gasket Sheet

It is a flat rubber sheet, available in black or dark gray, with a smooth or slightly fabric‑textured surface. regular thicknesses are 1 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm, and 5 mm.

You may consider using rubber sheets in the following situations:

1.Non‑standard flanges / irregular connections: Your equipment may have old‑style, non‑standard flanges, or cover plates with irregular shapes such as rectangles or ovals, for which ready‑made gaskets are not available on the market – you will need to cut your own gaskets from sheets.

2.Emergency repairs: Keep some sheets in stock. If any flange of any size leaks, you can cut a gasket on the spot and replace it immediately, without waiting for shipping.

3.Protective pads / liners: For example, placing them under equipment feet for vibration damping, or on shelves for anti‑slip purposes. Sheets are much more economical than buying a large number of finished O‑rings or gaskets.

Thickness is important – it must match the depth of your flange gap. Typically, standard flange gaskets are 1.5 mm to 3 mm thick. If too thick, bolts cannot be tightened properly (insufficient compression); if too thin, the gasket may not hold the pressure and could blow out.

When purchasing rubber sheets in bulk, pay attention to the following points to save time and improve efficiency:

1.Hardness (Shore A): Usually 70° ± 5° is standard. If the flange surface has severe corrosion pits, we recommend a softer sheet of 50°–60° (better conformity to uneven surfaces). For high‑temperature and high‑pressure applications, choose a harder sheet of 80° (better extrusion resistance).

2.Color: The vast majority of EPDM sheets on the market are black. Red or green sheets are typically special grades for high‑temperature or oil‑resistant applications, and they are more expensive than standard black EPDM sheets. If you have no special requirements, the standard black grade will meet your needs.

EPDM Flange Gasket

EPDM Flange Gasket

This is a pre‑cut, circular EPDM rubber sheet with evenly spaced bolt holes, specifically designed for use between two pipe flanges.

The same as EPDM Camlock Gasket .It is a subcategory of EPDM Pipe Gaskets

It is a flat ring (with a center hole to allow media flow) and features a circle of uniformly distributed bolt holes – the number varies depending on the flange standard (e.g., 4‑hole, 8‑hole, 12‑hole).
Thickness typically ranges from 1.5 mm to 6 mm, with 3 mm being the most common for standard flange gaskets.
main applications include water treatment, HVAC systems, and fire protection piping.

Note: If your pipeline carries oil or petroleum‑based fluids, we recommend switching to NBR (nitrile rubber) gasket or FKM (fluoroelastomer) flange gaskets, as EPDM is not oil‑resistant.

EPDM Heat Exchanger Gaskets

EPDM Heat Exchanger Gaskets

This is a narrow, strip‑shaped rubber gasket that is embedded in the gasket grooves of every stainless steel plate in a plate heat exchanger.

Key properties of EPDM in heat exchanger applications:

1.Hot water / steam resistance (primary advantage): Continuous operating temperature typically ranges from –40 °C to +150 °C. It performs exceptionally well in district heating, domestic hot water, and pasteurization (dairy industry), with far better hydrolysis stability than silicone.

2.Resistance to chemical cleaning: Withstands weak acids, weak alkalis, and chlorine‑based cleaners used in CIP (Cleaning‑in‑Place) processes, provided concentrations are controlled.

Important note: If the heat exchanger handles thermal oil or any medium containing mineral oil, EPDM will swell and “bulge” within a few hours, causing the gasket to extrude out of the groove and fail completely. In such cases, we suggest you to custom the HNBR gasket or FKM (fluoroelastomer)  gaskets.

Food Grade EPDM Gaskets

Food Grade EPDM Gaskets

EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) gaskets whose raw materials and manufacturing processes comply with food‑contact regulatory requirements. different from industrial‑grade EPDM, food‑grade EPDM must pass strict extractables/leachables tests to ensure that it does not contaminate food or alter its taste.

Compliance standards include:

1.FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 – the general standard for rubber materials in contact with food (USA).

2.EU 1935/2004 and AP (2004) 4 – food‑contact compliance standards for the European market.

3.NSF/ANSI 51 (food equipment) or NSF/ANSI 61 (drinking water) – third‑party certifications that are more rigorous than FDA self‑declaration (as mentioned in your previous inquiry).

Primary applications for food‑grade EPDM gaskets include food production lines involving hot water, steam, dairy products, and weak acids/alkalis. However, in these very scenarios, silicone gaskets tend to age faster than EPDM.

Applications:

1.Dairy / breweries: piping in pasteurisation sections (frequent exposure to 80 °C–90 °C hot water and CIP cleaning agents).

2.Beverage filling machines: seals for pipe joints during steam sterilisation (SIP) cycles.

3.Food processing equipment: flange gaskets for conveying syrup, fruit juice, and edible oils (vegetable oils, not mineral oils).

4.Drinking water treatment: gaskets for RO reverse‑osmosis units and water supply lines (additional NSF 61 compliance required).

Friendly mention: Many commercial kitchen appliances (e.g., fryers, grease‑transfer pipes) that use EPDM will develop leaks within days if the medium contains mineral oil, lubricants, or oil‑based preservatives. For such applications, we recommend food‑grade FKM (fluoroelastomer) or food‑grade NBR (nitrile rubber) instead.

Food‑grade EPDM gaskets are usually black or white. However, this does not mean that “black is industrial grade and white is food grade” – colour is simply a formulation choice; the actual grade should be determined based on specific requirements.

EPDM Bulb Gasket

EPDM Bulb Gasket

It is shaped sealing strip with a cross‑section resembling a “bulb” or “bubble” profile, designed to be installed along the edges of panels.

Primary applications:

1.Industrial and electrical enclosures: sealing door gaps in telecom cabinets, distribution boxes, and control panels.

2.Transportation: sealing for doors, trunks, and other automotive applications, providing noise reduction and waterproofing.

3.Building and HVAC: sealing around door and window frames.

EPDM Camlock Gasket

EPDM Camlock Gasket

It is a specialized sealing component used for quick‑connect hose couplings, commonly known as Camlock fittings. It is a subcategory of EPDM Pipe Gaskets.the gasket is a highly standardized universal part. However, when your requirements go beyond the ordinary, customization becomes necessary.

We can custom it for you in the following situations:

1.Non‑standard sizes: If your Camlock coupling is not the conventional 1/2″ to 4″ range, but rather larger or smaller, a custom gasket size is needed.

2.Special materials or hardness: When standard EPDM cannot meet extreme conditions (e.g., higher temperatures, aggressive chemicals), alternative materials or adjusted hardness levels may be required.

3.Special structures or designs: For example, FEP‑encapsulated Camlock gaskets are a special design intended to provide near‑universal chemical resistance.

EPDM Drum Gasket

EPDM Drum Gasket

This is a sealing gasket specifically designed for the top opening of standard industrial drums (typically 55‑gallon / 200‑litre round drums).

Standard specifications include:

Standard sizes: Gaskets are available in sizes designed for 2‑inch and ¾‑inch bunghole plugs.

Standard materials: EPDM is one of the most common choices; other options include NBR, silicone, and more.

Standard shapes: The most common configurations are tubular or flat ring gaskets.

We can supply OEM service  in the following cases:

Non‑standard sizes: If your drum is not the standard 55‑gallon / 200‑litre size, or if the opening has unusual dimensions.

Special shapes: When a non‑circular or custom‑shaped gasket is needed.

Special materials or hardness: When standard EPDM cannot meet extreme conditions (e.g., higher temperatures, aggressive chemicals), alternative materials or adjusted hardness levels may be required.

EPDM Flat Gasket

EPDM Flat Gasket

Flat EPDM gaskets without raised edges or annular ribs. Both EPDM Full Face Gaskets and EPDM Ring Gaskets fall into the category of flat flange gaskets, and this also includes some flat EPDM Drum Gaskets.

EPDM O Ring Gasket

EPDM O Ring Gasket

This is a gasket with a shape closely resembling that of an O‑ring. It is typically manufactured by compression molding and is primarily used in applications such as air conditioners, pipelines, and water heaters.

EPDM Sponge Gasket

EPDM Sponge Gasket

It is a sealing gasket made of EPDM foam material with a closed‑cell structure.

Advantages:

1.Airtightness and waterproofing: Gas and water cannot penetrate the closed‑cell structure, providing effective resistance to water, dust, and wind. Commonly used in outdoor cabinet door seals and automotive trunk seals.

2.Very low compression force required: Just a light press conforms to uneven surfaces, making it ideal for applications with low clamping force, such as window and door frames, and electrical enclosure covers.

Disadvantage:

Not resistant to high pressure at all: The internal cells will be crushed or even torn under high‑pressure fluid impact. It must never be used in pipe flanges or inside valve bodies – that is the domain of solid gaskets.

EPDM Bubble Gasket

EPDM Bubble Gasket

It is a sealing strip with a hollow tubular or D‑shaped bulb cross‑section.

There are three shape:

1.D‑shaped / hollow tubular strip (most common in construction):
The base is flat (with or without adhesive backing), with a semi‑circular or oval hollow “bulb” rising above it. Sealing is achieved by compressing this hollow cavity against door/window gaps.

2.Flange gasket with raised “bump points” (industrial use):
On the surface of a flat EPDM gasket, there are one or several circular raised arc‑shaped ribs (like tiny bubbles). When the bolts are tightened, only these raised ribs are compressed first, forming multiple sealing lines.

3.Pure tubular ring (similar to an O‑ring):
This is simply a hollow EPDM rubber tube joined end‑to‑end into a ring, specially designed for lightweight container lids that require extremely low compression force.

Advantages:

Because the interior is hollow, only light pressure is needed to flatten the bulb and create a wide contact surface. This is very friendly to plastic flanges, FRP (fibre‑reinforced plastic) vessels, and thin‑walled tanks – you don’t have to worry about overtightening and cracking the flange.

Excellent conformability: the hollow bulb acts like a suction cup, adapting well to rough or uneven surfaces, offering much higher tolerance than solid gaskets.

Disadvantages:

Not resistant to high pressure: The hollow interior means that at relatively high pressures (> 1–2 MPa), the bulb may collapse or even rupture. It is only suitable for low‑pressure or vacuum sealing.

EPDM material is not resistant to mineral oils, gasoline, or hydrocarbon solvents. If exposed to oils, the bulb will swell, soften, and may even stick, making , if so, you can  rec chooseNBR gasket or FKM gasket

EPDM Gasket For Potable Water

EPDM Gasket For Potable Water

EPDM gaskets that have been specially certified to ensure that, when in contact with human drinking water, they do not leach harmful substances, affect water quality, or impart undesirable taste or odour.

Main certifications :

1.NSF/ANSI 61 – the primary drinking water standard in the USA, which requires that leached chemicals from materials immersed in water do not exceed strict limits.

2.WRAS – the UK drinking water safety certification; products without this approval are illegal for use in water supply systems in the UK.

3.KTW / KTW‑BWGL – drinking water safety standards widely recognised in Germany and Europe, with extremely stringent material requirements.

4.ACS – the French certification for materials in contact with drinking water.

5.FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 – the US FDA food‑contact safety regulation for rubber products.

6.GB/T 5749 – China’s “Hygienic Safety Evaluation Standard for Drinking Water Distribution Equipment and Protective Materials” and the “Sanitary Standard for Drinking Water”.

 Applications :

1.Piping and fittings: taps, valves, pumps, and flange connections.

2.Municipal and industrial: water meters, water treatment systems, and fire‑protection pipelines.

Disadvantage:

Absolutely not for use with petroleum‑based fluids such as gasoline, diesel, or mineral oils, as these will cause swelling and damage.

Not suitable for steam systems – high‑temperature steam accelerates ageing of the material.

epdm gasket for solar panels

EPDM Gasket For Solar Panels

This refers to a collective term for various EPDM sealing, cushioning, and protective gaskets specifically designed for use in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

EPDM gaskets serve the following key functions in solar systems:

1.Waterproof sealing: Installed around screw holes, panel edges, or between panels to prevent rainwater and moisture ingress, thereby protecting internal metal components from rust and corrosion.

2.Vibration damping and cushioning: Placed between the solar panel and the mounting bracket to absorb shocks from wind, vibration, and other forces, reducing long‑term wear.

3.Abrasion protection: Used as cable protection pads to prevent damage to PV cables from friction against bracket edges.

4.Dust and wind protection: Sealing gaps between panels to keep out dust, debris, and airflow.

Common types and configurations – depending on installation position and function, various forms are available:

1.T‑shaped sealing strip: Specifically designed to fill and seal larger gaps between solar panels.

2.Flat washer / gasket: Used for sealing components such as PV connectors.

3.Rubber washer (with screw): An EPDM washer integrated with a screw, used for bracket mounting to provide both waterproofing and fastening.

4.Custom‑shaped strips: Sealing strips with various cross‑sectional profiles, tailored to specific installation requirements.

Main application scenarios:

1.Between panel and bracket: Serving as a damping and isolation pad.

2.Between panels: As a gap‑filling sealing strip to prevent water leakage.

3.Around screw holes and edges: As sealing gaskets to prevent seepage.

4.PV connectors: As sealing elements for connectors.

5.Cable protection: As protective sleeves to prevent abrasion.

epdm valve body gasket

EPDM Valve Body Gasket

The sealing gasket installed between the valve body and the bonnet or seat.

This gasket can be a flat ring, a profiled lip, or an irregular shape that perfectly conforms to the contour of the valve casting. normal materials are pure  molded rubber parts, either with or without a metal insert (reinforcement).

It is used on the top of gate valves, globe valves, ball valves, or butterfly valves (at the bonnet‑to‑body connection), as well as in the seat liner area of butterfly valves – where the rubber is vulcanized onto a metal insert to serve as the sealing surface.
